State of California must join cities in fight against homelessness: Guest commentary

Finding ways to bring thousands of men, women and children off the street and prevent future homelessness is a pressing issue for cities throughout California.

The size of this crisis — some 116,000 Californians homeless, 74,000 of them unsheltered — means that cities, counties and nonprofit organizations cannot face this issue alone, however. Having the state as an active partner in this effort would go a long way toward ending homelessness.
