Transportation planning for the future

The average Los Angeles commuter spends about 104 hours each year stuck in traffic, according to the data company Inrix. In addition to all this time wasted, that adds up to about $2,408 annually in gas expenses per driver.
It’s time to do better. That’s why Gateway Cities COG is developing an integrated multimodal transportation strategy, with input from member cities and communities as well as bicycle and pedestrian advocacy groups. This Strategic Transportation Plan can help improve the mobility, accessibility, sustainability and safety of our subregion’s transportation system.
The plan includes improvements for freeways, public transit and goods movement infrastructure. It utilizes high-tech intelligent transportation systems to reduce congestion and will ultimately enhance quality of life for area residents.
